Cathy Baxter wrote …. "Early Sunday morning [Dec.19, 2010], Elsie Paget passed away at St. Joseph Villa in Dundas.  Elsie was a member of CFUW and was a member of the French group for many years. 

 

PAGET, Elsie (nee Davidson) B.A., M.A. French, M.A. English b. September 1, 1924 m. 1945 Stan Paget, F.I.E.E., P. Eng., R.A.C.A.F. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Volunteer, Mentor and Friend. Elsie Paget was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1924, the first of two daughters. During WWII she worked as a supervisor of the Bofor cannon assembly in Ottawa. In 1945 Elsie married Stanley Paget, a WWII Veteran, who is now retired from a successful career in electrical engineering and management at Stelco. Her sister, Elizabeth, married Norton Delaney. Elsie has four children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bruce, a cabinetmaker and retired teacher, lives in Calgary with his wife Laureen, a successful entrepreneur, and their son Robbee. Tony, co-owner and president of a tool and die company, Garrtech, lives in Grimsby with his wife Nancy, an R.N. They have a son Clinton and a daughter Kelly. Clinton and his wife Krista have a son Jaden and a daughter Ella. David, the owner and manger of a back clinic, Corespine, lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jeanne, an I.C.U. R.N. They have four children: Jonathan, Christy, Jessica and Joshua. Sharon, M.S.W., lives in Toronto with her sons Mattie and Darcy. In the late 60's Elsie returned to high school to complete her diploma. She then went on to complete her B.A., as well as two Masters degrees in French and English at McMaster University. Elsie served as a longstanding volunteer and supporter of the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews, especially the French Exchange program. Elsie was very active with the Status of Women Committee, City of Hamilton. She has been a devoted mentor and friend to many women and students. Elsie is a member of the Anglican Christ Church congregation in Flamborough. Before her illness, she served as a very active participant of the Women's Altar Guild and was also very busy researching and writing a history of Christ Church and the Niagara Diocese of the Anglican Church. Elsie loved to travel, check out new restaurants, and meet new people. She loves her family, her friends, and her many cherished associates. A Celebration of Elsie's Life will take place on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at CHRIST CHURCH ANGLICAN, 92 Hwy #8 Dundas at 11:00 a.m. An interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery. www.catteleatonandchambers.ca
