About CFUW - Burlington

We are the Burlington Chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW). We are part of a national organization of 10,000 women that is committed to pursuing knowledge, promoting education, improving the status of women and girls and actively participating in public concerns.

Our club meets the fourth Monday of the months from September to May. This year, we will hold our meetings in the Seniors' Centre on New Street.

Meetings have a program component and a business portion and include social time . We get together because we are interested in topics which provide information and enrichment. The programmes focus on community issues, political concerns, the arts, and education. And also we meet because in CFUW we have formed lasting friendships.

Interest Groups are smaller groups who meet monthly. The number of interest groups varies from year to year. We may add groups when members identify a new topic or focus of interest and propose a new group.

Annually the club presents scholarships to young women graduating from high school and continuing in post secondary education. Our newsletter is published 4 times a year on this website and is available to members. It is one of the ways we try to keep everyone up-to date on activities and events in our club.

If you live in the Burlington area, and are curious about our club, you are invited to join and discover CFUW Burlington for yourself!
